Alcohol Drinking Related Health Characteristics in Men of national merit More than 60 Years Old

Abstract

|
Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate alcohol drinking related health characteristics for a life stability and well-being improvement in men of national merit.
Methods: The research design for this study was a descriptive survey design with a convenience sample. Data collection was done using self-report questionnaires with 163 men of national merit more than 60 years old visiting out-patient department of cardiovascular medicine. The process of drinking consciousness change investigated together with the state of healthy action change including drinking temptation and decisional balance to the alcohol drinking.
Results: `When failing a work` was highest in Drinking temptation. The subjects knew well `If I drink continuously, I will be addict to alcohol.` in decisional balance to the alcohol drinking. Most of subjects experienced mental stress and difficulty in living.
Conclusion: These findings indicate that access to evidence-based treatment program and systems of care should be provided for men of national merit who drink alcohol and other health conditions and illnesses."
